AskNadia: Terrible Itching in Lower Leg’s and Feet

My husband is suffering from terrible itching in his lower legs and feet. Do you have any suggestions as to what would give him some relief?

Dear Sharon,

Your husband’s itchy lower limbs can be a result of several things. It could be that he is experiencing nephropathy, kidney disease, or neuropathy, nerve damage.

My mother experienced neuropathy. She was constantly itching her lower limbs. In her case she had both high blood pressure and high blood sugars, which contributed, to her itching to her lower limbs.

You can help your husband by getting him in to see his healthcare professional. This way, they can isolate the cause of his discomfort and prescribe a solution.

Please keep us posted on his progress.
