There’s a new treatment for Type 2 diabetes that may be perfect for children.

The FDA has recently approved Victoza injections as a treatment option to help lower blood sugar in children and adolescents ages 10-17. Designed to be used alongside exercise and diet, Victoza has been on the market since 2010 but was approved specifically for younger patients this year. This offers an additional treatment option aside from insulin and metformin.

Interested patients should consult with their doctors to see if Victoza could be the right fit.
