With a Little Help From His Friends

Sean Glass, a musician living with type 1 whom we first profiled a few months ago, is looking for a little bit of help from his fans.

The singer-songwriter, who juggles music, family and diabetes, recently entered a prestigious songwriting contest that requires audience participation in order for him to advance.

The Guitar Center Singer Songwriter III with Don Was songwriting contest is a 10-week competition open to US residents who can submit up to five music videos featuring original songs for consideration.

Glass’s humor-tinged, folk-infused songs, “Savin’ Up” and “Growin’ Up Fast,” can be found at the following link: http://songwriter.revimage.com/channels/Sean+Glass.

According to the contest rules, have a listen to one or both songs, and if you like what you hear, share the link on your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ page to help Glass earn points and advance in the competition.

Submissions with the most online activity-10 per week-will be selected by the judges for review, narrowing the field to 100 singer-songwriter submissions.

Glass, whose first album, “Lucky Wind,” includes a song he wrote while in an MRI machine during a brain scan, is expected to release his second album later this fall.
“I’m really always on the clock as far as songwriting goes because it’s just something I love to do,” he said. “There’s nothing like the feeling of finishing a new song, so I’m always chasing that moment or melody. I’m pretty much always trying to write the next song.”
