Vitamins C and E Reduce the Risk of Coronary Heart Disease in Women With Diabetes

Vitamin C and E supplements reduce the risk of coronary heart disease in women with diabetes.

In research presented by Frank Hu at the American Diabetes Association’s scientific sessions in June, 5, 103 U.S. female nurses with diabetes were evaluated over a fourteen year period to determine the relationship between vitamin C and E supplements and the incidence of coronary heart disease.

According to Hu, an increase in free radical production and a reduction in antioxidant defenses have been found in patients with diabetes.
