“Omega Boy Versus Doctor Diabetes” is acomic book written by brothers Kamaal andMalcolm Washington. The brothers—ages 11and 9, respectively—are the sons of AlonzoWashington, publisher, co-writer, co-creatorand owner of Omega 7 comic books.

The two boys, who have grown up aroundcomics, started the “Omega Boy VersusDoctor Diabetes” venture when Kamaalwas diagnosed with type 1 in 2003. He andMalcolm, who live in Kansas City, Kansas,draw and write the comic book. Theywanted to use their Omega Boy superheroto educate children about the disease.
