LifeScan Meter Not Basic Anymore

By: Kya Fawley

LifeScan, manufacturer of blood glucose self-monitoring products, has updated its One Touch Basic meter.

The One Touch Basic now has a 75-test memory, a larger screen and a new shape that can be held more easily. The meter also gives messages in 17 languages, including English and Spanish.

LifeScan is also offering an improved lancing device. The Penlet Plus lancing device can help avoid some of the pain caused by testing blood sugars. It has seven different depth selections so users do not have to lance more deeply than needed.
