Last Call! Weekend for Women Starts Friday

Want your voice to be heard as a champion for the diabetes community? Or connect with others committed to improving the lives of people with diabetes?

A new event at the DiabetesSisters Weekend for Women San Francisco Conference will give those impacted by diabetes that opportunity. For the first time, the group will host the DiabetesSisters’ Social Media Meet-up featuring DSMA (Diabetes Social Media

Advocacy) Live Oct. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to kick off the conference weekend.

The meet-up brings together attendees at the annual conference, the San Francisco Bay Area diabetes community, and the diabetes online community to network and learn from each other.

The night starts with a meet and mingle session from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport – Waterfront, 150 Anza Blvd., in Burlingame, Calif. The “DSMA Live” blog radio broadcast starts at 6:30 p.m. featuring DSMA founder Cherise Shockley and several surprise guests.

DSMA uses social media to build community and education among diabetes patients. DSMA Live is a program of the Diabetes Community Advocacy Foundation, which is partnering with DiabetesSisters for this new event.

The DiabetesSisters Social Media Meet-up is open to all people with and affected by diabetes. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/pywzzwq, or follow @diabetessisters and @DiabetesSocMed on Twitter with the #wfwsf13 hashtag.
