A1C Away

Diabetes Technologies, Inc., of Thomasville, Georgia, announced it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for marketing its over-the-counter A1C kit. This product, called the AccuBase A1C Test Kit, was developed to allow people with diabetes to test their A1C levels at home.

The test, which is certified by the National Glyco-hemoglobin Standardization Program, is sent to a laboratory for analysis after the blood sample is taken.

The test costs $21.95, including the laboratory analysis, and can be purchased directly from Diabetes Technologies at (888) 872-2443 or on the Web at www.diabetestechnologies.com.
