New Test Gives Early Indications for Type 1

Biomerica Inc. plans to begin sales of its new diabetes blood test overseas as soon as it receives FDA approval.

The new test, called Isletest-GAD, will be used to identify early indications of type 1 diabetes by detecting autoantibodies to the amino acid glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) which are believed to be associated with the development of type 1 diabetes. According to Chemical Business Newsbase, several companies have expressed interest in distributing the new test.
