Author Sheri R. Colberg, PhD, gives readers permission to try their best, to do what they can to manage their fitness and health and teaches them how to proactively care for themselves and their diabetes.
For years, the repeated chorus of “lose more weight” has echoed in my ears, just as it has in the ears of my patients when they see me after visiting their doctors.
Like them, and like you, perhaps, the older I become (and the less regularly active), the harder it has been for me to lose weight.
Colberg, an associate professor of exercise science at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., offers an inspirational, “makes good sense” approach to preventing, and living well with, diabetes.
