An overview of 103 research reports comprising 10,455 subjects hasfound that it's better to stick to exercise than to spread yourselftoo thin by trying to change your activity level, diet, andmedication all at the same time.

People with diabetes who attendedclasses to increase their exercise saw twice as much improvement intheir A1c's as those ambitious souls who tried to make multiplechanges.

The meta-analysis, published in Diabetologia, also found that itdidn't matter how young, old, overweight, or poorly in control oftheir sugars people were when they started: exercise was equallybeneficial to them all.

The take-away? Narrow your focus if you have to, but do get outthere and move.
