Diabetic Patients Advised to Take Good Care of Their Teeth

If you have patients with diabetes, advise them to maintaingood dental hygiene. A recent report states that peoplewith diabetes have a higher severity of periodontal disease.

Jordanian researchers found that diabetics have “significantlyworse oral hygiene as measured by the average of plaqueindex, higher severity of gingival disease as measured by theaverage of gingival index, and higher severity of periodontaldisease as measured by the average of probing pocket depthand clinical attachment loss.”
