Hooray! Now We Have Billing Codes for Continuous Monitors

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved new Healthcare Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS, known as "hickpicks") codes for continuous glucose monitoring.
The agency created three hickpick codes, one each for subcutaneous disposable sensors, external transmitters, and receivers.
It's an important step forward toward insurance reimbursement for CGMs, because HIPAA requires the codes for transactions involving healthcare. The codes are used to help physicians process medical records in an orderly and accurate manner.

WHat are the codes?
Why print the article without the codes?
What about Medicare reimbursement? Anything happening yet?
Wondering ~~ does any large insurance plans, i.e., Kaiser, use the codes? If not, possibly when??
I talked to medicarde on 10/13/2007 and was told that medicare in no way covers the continious monitors. I asked if I came up with the way to buy one would they help pay for the items and I was told no. I was told it is not medically necessary.
I called on 13 December and Medicare told me in no way will they cover the continious monitors or anything associated with them. I also have tricare for life and what Medicare does not cover neither will Tricare.
So I would like to know where these codes came from and who said they will pay for them.
Great...it's a start. But you still have to fight with insurance and company HR to get this covered. Like any "new" items, it's not a high priority to these folks.
Does medicaid cover the continuous glucose monitoring system? Also what is the difference bet. the dexcom system and the minimed paradigm continuous gluc. monitoring systems?
