Our diet has changed a great deal since our days as hunter-gatherers on the African plains. Not only do we eat more carbs and fats, but we may also be getting far fewer of the micronutrients that were abundant in the primitive diet.
At least, that is the hypothesis behind NeuropathyRx, an amalgamation of five micronutrients that its manufacturer is promoting as a treatment for diabetic neuropathic pain.
Recently, NeuropathyRx was examined in an open-label uncontrolled study, during which 28 patients with painful diabetic neuropathy were given NeuropathyRx for three months. On a scale from one to ten, they reported an average rating of 6.59 for burning pain in their hands and feet at the beginning of the study.
They also reported an average of 6.54 for overall pain. After taking the supplement for three months, the burning pain in their hands and feet had dropped to a rating of 2.44, and their overall pain was down to 2.85.
NeuropathyRx contains five antioxidants: N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), alpha-lipoic-acid (ALA), L-carnitine (LCA), vitamin C, and selenium. The recommended dosage is four capsules a day, and it costs about $40 for a month's supply of 120. NeuropathyRx is available at www.neuropathysolutions.com.
We haven't tried NeuropathyRx ourselves, but we're very curious about whether it really works. So if you do decide to try it, please use the Comments feature to describe your experience with it.

say what you want it WORKS for me!!
Haven't used this particular "mixture" of supplements but have been using Alpha Lipoic Acid -one of the supplements in this- now for over a year and I feel it "cured" my "foot drop" which I've mentioned on other postings here. I'm on 600mg/day of it, after going on a very high dosage for a couple of months, and my neuropathy in my feet keeps on improving all the time.
Has anyon used Metanx? I've tried other high potency types with no luck for my hands and feet....Have others tried the Alpha Lipoic acid?
