hi to every one who has diabeties. well i have had diabeties for 41yrs. i have had all that every one has talked about, but you know we are so lucky to have been told that we have diabeties in this last generation, because other wise we all would not be here at all living past a year in the olden days before insulin was discovered. i was told at 9yrs old that i would be lucky to see my 14th birthday. well i am now 50yrs this october and i am so glad that i have seen my son and daughter grow up to be fantastic people. they have given me 3 grandsons and 1 grandaughter who i to will see them all grow up and be great people to and maybe be around to be a great grandmother. we are all lucky to still be here. yes i am not well and take a lot of meds, but i amm determand to have a great life and go with the odds and out live my generation with hope and happiness. so you all pick up your chins and stand tall and be proud.

A web search has not revealed any correlation between glucophage and irritability as a side-effect. I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic last July (2007) and my blood sugar is under control with 1000 mg glucophage twice daily and daily exercise and and diet which has enabled me to shed 25 pounds. However, during the same period I have been experiencing severe irritability which has made me inwardly very angry and intolerant towards family members, including my wife of 32 years for the first time in our relationship. I heard of a similar behavioural change in someone's father after being diagnosed and treated in the same way. It made me wonder if this mood change was an undocumented side-effect of glucophage?
