DiabetEase, a web-based product

Software Puts the ‘Ease’ in Managing Your BG Data

John Hughes
Apr 1, 2006

This month we take a look at a Web-based product called DiabetEase from DiabetEase, Inc. DiabetEase, like other diabetes management software programs, provides you with tools to save, track and graph blood glucose data.

The first step to using the software is to click on the “Register” icon, and the registration form will appear. You must provide the required information on this form, including your e-mail address. Once the registration is complete, you will be logged in and you may use all of the available features.

Clicking on the “My DiabetEase” icon will take you to the main area of the system. Here you can upload readings from your glucose meter, add or edit readings in DiabetEase, graph the blood glucose readings and print reports. There are small icons that make it very easy to navigate around the data being displayed. The plus and minus icons will zoom in or zoom out on the data. This allows you to look more closely at the data or to return to a less detailed level of display. The back arrow and forward arrow allow you to move forward or backward through time, so you can look at the data for a previous time period or on move to the next one.

The graphs use colors indicating your target range for blood glucose readings and your displayed readings. You may graph blood glucose values for one day, one week, two weeks, one month, three months, six months or one year.

Clicking on the “Inquiries” icon will take you to a Web page with documentation for DiabetEase, FAQs for the software and much more.

The DiabetEase program is free of charge. All you need to do is register to be able to use the personalized features.

For more information, visit www.diabetease.com or call (613) 720-5857.
