Beth Israel Hospital is opening the state of the art Gerald J. Friedman Diabetes Institute on 11/14/07, UN World Diabetes Day. Up until now insurance companies haven't paid for preventative care. Now, those who do not have the means, will be able to get free care! Spread the word!

yo! i have diabetes too. i got it when i was on tour in 2006. it was really scary at frist my sugar level was at 700 and i thought that i was going to die i was thristy all the time and i lost around 15 pounds. when my doctor told me i had diabetes i was crying.tears runing down my face , and my hands shaking i ask the doctor "am i going to die?" . he said no and i was cool with it. it was a real pin at frist on tour. but then i got introduced with the pod i wear it on my arm and i just gives me the mediction when i need it.

Please distinguish between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. They are two different illnesses.

Um, you people havn't said the difference between type one and type two diabetes. Type one is completely different from type two. I have had type one since i was 9 and what they dont tell you on here is the famouse people who have type one and type two. i mean obveously halle barry has type one. She isnt over wheight. But still, they should add more recent celebs and state which one has type one or type two. get cho fakz straighz yo.
