New Magnifier Helps With Syringe Loading

Medical device manufacturer AmbiMedInc has introduced an updated version of its Insul-eze syringe magnifier.

The Capitola, Calif.-based company presented the device at the recent annual meeting of the American Association of Diabetes Educators in Philadelphia.

Insul-eze is designed to assist people with poor vision or dexterity to load insulin syringes safely and accurately.

The improved device allows insulin bottles of all sizes to securely snap into place at one end. A channel on its underside accommodates and guides all sizes of insulin syringes to align their needles perfectly with the insulin bottle top. The transparent channel also magnifies numbers on the syringe, making it easier to load the right amount of insulin.

A newly designed base prevents rolling, creates stability and allows the magnifier, syringe, and bottle to be secure for easy loading, viewing, and use. The product can also be affixed to a counter or refrigerator with Velcro or a magnet to allow one-handed loading.
