I've been on a 40 mg dose of simvastatin (Zocor) for years and I tolerate it very well (no muscle pain or elevated liver enzymes). Since simvastatin depletes CoQ10, I take a 100 mg daily dose to compensate. That's it.

Has anyone had any negative experiences with statins?

My endo wanted me to start taking a statin, but I balked and the conversation ended when I asked about the effect of these drugs on someone who already had low LDL.

This is a good thread and I had to contribute, I usually do allot of research on diabetes and find great stuff, this post has opened my eyes to statins. I was diagnosed with diabetes some time ago and now have erectiel dysfunction as well due to it.
