hi, I have type 1 Diabetes, I am still new to it, I've had it ever since: Dec. 15, 2008. I have been having severe stomach pains, witch I can't seem to get over, and a stabbing pain on my right side of my stomach. it's all tender when you get close to it. I also think that I might be Allergic to meat, because whenever I have it I seem to have the same pain, do you think that has something to do with meat? I had to switch my insulin to Humalin, and Humalog. I have been taking T3 to try to stop my pain. unfortunatley that isn't working. Please! if you know anything about the same kind of stomach pain, could you post anything to try to help me?

I TOO, AM A TYPE 1 DIABETIC. DIAGNOSED IN 1972 AT 12 YEARS OF AGE. I HAVE PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY NOW AND THAT PAIN IS TREMENDOUS AT TIMES!DIABETICS CAN SUFFER FROM MANY TYPES OF NEUROPATHY. YOU CAN RESEARCH THEM ALL ON ( www.WebMD.com). I ALSO SUFFER FROM THE TYPE OF NEUROPATHY THAT AFFECTS YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM AND YOUR BOWELS.I'M SORRY THAT I CAN'T RECALL THE MEDICAL TERM FOR THIS. ANYWAY, IT GIVES YOU TERRIBLE STOMACH PAINS, BLOATING AND WATER-LIKE DIAHREA (ABOUT EVERY 3-4 DAYS)WITH GAS. YOU CAN HELP ELEVIATE THIS BY ADDING INTO YOUR DIET 15-30 GRAMS (ABOUT 2 TABLESPOONS) OF "BENEFIBER POWDER" DAILY. IT IS GRIT-FREE AND TASTELESS.A STORE BRAND OF THE SAME WORKS JUST AS WELL AND IS ALOT CHEAPER. TALK TO YOUR ENDOCRINOLOGIST ABOUT THIS AS HE/SHE WILL BE BETTER ABLE TO HELP YOU. PAIN MEDICATIONS ARE NOT GOING TO ALLEVIATE THE PROBLEM; IT'LLONLYGET WORSE WITHOUT A REATMENT REGIMEN! GOOD LUCK!

If your blood sugars are not well controled then just about any strange symptom you have can be blamed on diabetes---and you will be right. So controlling your blood sugars is extremely important. Diabetes can hide other diseases or other diseases can act like diabetes. The only solution is to control yourblood sugars and keep them close to normal (non-diabetic) range. You *can* do this. With your blood sugars controlled then if somethinf is not right you can go looking for another problem, it probably won't be diabetes.

Not likely you are allergic to meat. If you have a problem with the gall bladder you may have difficulty digesting fats. Look for diarrea. You may be allergic to the chemicals sprayed on the meat in the processing plants. These chemicals kill bacteria and help make the meat safe. The meat processors do not need to declare them as additives. The meat is also injected with brine to increase the weight. Many of the chemicals are made by EcoLab (I used to be in that business). Try buying a nice steak from a kosher butcher shop. It will be well processed, safe, no brine injection and with no chemicals. If it gives you problems then I would see your Dr.
